In the Emergency Department, physicians must balance diagnosing life-threatening conditions using emergent imaging with the risk of potential harm caused by exposure to IV contrast. Recent studies, including the one discussed by Lauren in this episode, challenge the proposed causal relationship between contrast and the development of acute kidney injury.
